The new Hotel is located in front of the historic residence Villa Maria, a local monument, erected towards the end of the 1700's, the start of the 'romantic' age. The Villa has accommodated illustrious guests, including Garibaldi in 1758 and Goethe in 1802, both of them having left appreciative comments that are preserved to this day in the guest-book.

It is placed at the foot of Montecatini Alto, in front of Villa Maria, in a splendid parkland of 5,000 square metres, populated with olives, oaks and cedars. Villa Maria has a splendid swimming pool suitable for both adults and children. It is situated in the centre of the park. Villa Maria is located in a panoramic area with a wonderful view on Montecatini Terme. A summer resort, Montecatini (30 Km east of Lucca, 45 Km from Florence and 50 Km from Pisa) is a wealthy and popular watering-hole lying at the foot of the Pistoian mountains. The baths and spas date back to the fourteenth century and nowadays there are nine fully-functioning 'terme' spread around the town.

The centre and the Parco delle Terme are delightful, and if designer shopping is your bag (Prada, natch) then you're in for a treat.
